Condolences - Sri Mahankali Mohan

Kuchipudi community mourns the loss of a very valuable artist Sri Mahankali Mohan on May 21st 2012. Our deepest condolences to his family. May his soul rest in peace.

Natyacharya Mahankali Mohan was a name synonymous with Kuchipudi . A sought after Nattuvanar extraordinaire and performer of a myriad of dramatic mythical characters, he made regular appearance on major dance scenes. His mastery of the nattuvangam had him in high demand, and highly ranked artists from all over the world worked with him. He had started the Kuchipudi Nritya Kala Bhavan nearly 25 years ago.

He was a Disciple of Padmabhushan Guru Dr. Vempati Chinna Satyam Garu and Padmasri Vedantam Satyanarayana Sarma garu. He worked as a Lecturer at the Bhakta Ramadasa Govt. Music & Dance College, West Marredpally, Sec.

Amongst many other awards, he received Tittles like "Nirtya Sutradhara Shiromani", "Nartana Virat", Nattuvanga Ratna" etc;
