Laya Dance Academy was founded by Mrs. Prathyusha Apparasu who is a disciple of Dr. Vempati Chinna Satyam Garu, founder of Kuchipudi Art Academy in Madras and reknowned Sri. Chinta Aadinarayan Sarma Garu from Guntur.
She is a skillful performer as well as graceful and charming dancer who exhibits talent that is an outcome of hard work and depth of understanding of the dance form. She started her formal dance training when she was in first grade and continued until she got married. Over the course she gave numerous performances and received great acclaim.
Some of her achievements include:
- She has won the Gold Medal in All India Dance Competitions held in YMCA, Hyderabad.
- She was selected as a best female dancer for the role of Parvathi in a Ballet (Sivathandavam) performed in Chillakaluripeta Annual Dance Competitions.
- She took first place in various dance competitions held all over India.
- She has given more than 100 performances.
