Mrs.Priya Vemuganti is a budding Kuchipudi artist, choreographer, performer and a teacher based in Apex,NC.


She is known for her scintillating stage presence and grace, and her performances are infused with a unique sense of charm and spirituality. She began her dance journey at a young age and has trained under renowned gurus in the United States and India.



Priya is a RTP native who was initiated into Kuchipudi by Guru Sri Sudheer Rao Garu, in India.She continued her passion drive her destination over the years and has been lucky to have Guru Shrimati Samidha Satyam by her side while she was in Bay Area for about 10 years. She has been honed to bring in the beauty of Guru Shri Vempati Chinna Satyam Gari’s bani under her esteemed guidance. Priya also was fortunate to train  under Guru Shri Kishore Mosalikanti Garu as part of his workshops in the Bay area. 


After the move from Bay area to RTP,  Priya completed Bhavadyayana certification offered by Shambavi School of Dance under the guidance of Guru Shri Vyjayanthi Kashi and Prateeksha Kashi, where she learnt some abstract concepts on dance and spirituality ,the essence of literary works and the stories that derived the concepts in dance.  With the inspiration, guidance and support from her Gurus mentioned earlier; Priya started teaching this age-old art form to continue to keep this beauty alive for generations to come and is the artistic director of Satyam Shivam School of Dance.


She is continuing to advance journey under Guru Shri Priyanka Vempati Garu, understanding the theoretical aspects  while learning the minute nuances that can make a big difference when presenting on stage.



Priya believes that a teacher is a forever student and a student is a forever teacher and the relationship is beyond words can articulate;  and both these entities continue to learn from each other to make themselves a better human with every passing  interaction and there is always something beautiful you can learn from everyone. She loves to explore and experiment and see what other renowned dancers ,artists and art forms bring in; and as part of this exploration , connected with Sreelakshmy Govardhan and Meera SreeNaarayan to understand the Abhinaya aspects through Astapadi and Keerthanas gathering some unique perspectives.


She has participated in numerous productions and prestigious events in the USA and in India; Asian Fest, Wake County International fest, Ethnic Dance Festival in SF, YuvaBharati, Silicon Andra , Natya and ICMDS events to name a few. She was part of the first Guinness book of world record presenting Kuchipudi and also supported charity events by participating in the World cultural festival in DC.


She is pursuing dance actively alongside her IT career and reconnecting with her roots at various levels shaping her unique journey. She is passionate about preserving Kuchipudi's spirituality and traditions while simultaneously encouraging exploration, individuality, and creativity in her students. Priya urges her students to find their own artistic voice and combines her knowledge gained from varied experiences to bring in the best out of her students.
