“Naatyacharya Shri Mahankali Mohan,
with the blessings of Lord “Shankara” was born to “Brahmasree Mahankali Lakshmi
Narsimham” and “Smt Anasuya”, in Kuchipudi Village. From the childhood Shri
Mohan, shows an interest in dance and he participated various types of dances
in “Kuchipudi Yakshaganam” and he played different classical characters like Sri Krishna, Manmadha, Narada, Indra,
Narasimhaswamy, Asura, dharmaraju, Bhrugu, Ananda & Madhavi etc., and
he was very famous for the character of Narada.
He performed more than 500 “solo” items and he blessed with an award of “Nartanavirat” and simultaneously he
performed more than 600 “Yakshaganam”
and different dance dramas.
Sri
Mohan, has a great talent in “Kuchipudi” dance performances. From 1975 to 1977,
Sangeetha Nataka Academy, New Delhi
given a Merit Scholarship to him and from 2000 to 2002 H.R.D., New Delhi had
sponsored Senior Fellowship to him. In Kuchipudi dance “Nattuvaangam” plays
a major role. Shri Mohan occupies the first and foremost in “Nuttuvaangam” and he was awarded with a title of “Nrutya Sutradhaara Siromani” and “Nrutya
Sutradhaara Ratna”. He can
give the Nattuvaangam support not
only for Kuchipudi dance, but he is
having a capacity to give support for Bharathanatyam
and Mohini Attam also under Nattu Vangam support, so many
FAMOUS ARTISTES like Padmashree Dr.Shoba Naidu, Padmashree Hemamalini, M.P. Dream Girl, Dr. Vasantha, Dr. Haritha, Dr. Sita, Dr. Anuradha, Dr. Kamalareddy, Dr. Ratna Papa, Dr. Padmaja Reddy, Dr. Sirisha, Dr. Alekya, Kamdev-London, Lolo portal - Paris, Leera, Henna Mashak - Russia, Manju Bhargavi etc.
He has given a good support to the students to give such a
good dance performances successfully. The performances are more than 3,000. In
1975 Sri Mohan went to Paris, Brazil, Belgium, Holand, Italy, in 1983 he went
to Mauritius, in 1984 he went to America, Canada, Trini Dod, in 1985 he went to
Hongkong, Bangkok, Indonesia, Lavaous, Vietrnam, Kumpuchia, Thailand, Singapore,
in 1989 he went to Russia, Paris, in 1996 he went to London & America. He
had give a wonderful Kuchipudi Dance performances in International countries.
He had taken a special place in T.V & A.I.R. National Programs. He has
given dance directions to various movies & TV documents.
Shri Mohan, appointed as an examiner,
which was conducted by Sri Potti Sri
Ramulu Telugu University. He well take a vital role in Kuchipudi dance for
Certificate and Diploma courses, B.A., M.A. and
Yakshaganam courses also. He was also awarded Ugadi Puraskaram twice by Chief Ministers Shri Nara Chandra Babu
Naidu and Shri Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy, Andhra Pradesh Govt. He won a gold medal
by Srinivasa Kuchipudi Art
Academy. He is a great scholar. In 1987 he established an institute of Kuchipudi Nrutyakala Bhavan, in
Hyderabad and he molded a number of students as Trainees, Professionals, dance
performing artists, and Nattuvanars. He was completely dedicated to Kuchipudi dance. He has also worked as Lecturer
in the Department of Kuchipudi Dance in Sri Bhakta ramadasa, Govt. Music and Dance College, West Marrdpally, Secunderabad.
